100th Anniversary of Lubomir astronomical observatory – HAM radio award
on wrzesień 17th, 2022 at 15:01In 2022, a hundred year will pass since Astronomical Observatory of the Jagiellonian University Faculty of Astronomy was established on Lubomir, a mountain in Beskid Wyspowy range, about 30 km south of Kraków, Poland. To commemorate this anniversary, the Raba Valley Amateur Radio Club SP9KDR has prepared a special award. We invite you to make contacts with the HF100L special event station and with our club station SP9KDR in order to obtain this award.

Rules of the radio amateur award commemorating the 100th anniversary of the astronomical observatory on Lubomir
- Goal: commemorating the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Astronomical Observatory of the Jagiellonian University in Lubomir in Beskid Wyspowy (currently: Tadeusz Banachiewicz Astronomical Observatory)
- Organizer: Raba Valley Amateur Radio Club SP9KDR
- Timeframe of the award (scoring period): from September 17 to December 31, 2022.
- Participants: individual broadcasters, club stations and listeners
- Bands and emissions: contacts for the award points may take place on all bands available to amateurs according to the applicable bandplan, using any emission, only in direct communication – excluding repeaters.
- Scoring: to obtain the award, it is necessary to accumulate at least 100 points. Points can be obtained for contacts with the HF100L special event station and the Organizer’s club station SP9KDR. You can only earn points once a day from each of these stations. The number of points for a single contact depends on the date of the contact, as shown in the scoring table attached to the regulations.
- Logs of the HF100L special event station and the SP9KDR club station will be used to check whether the station applying for the award has gained enough points. Participants will not need to submit their log to the Organizer to obtain the award.
- The award certificate is free of charge
- The award certificate in PDF format will be available on the website of the SP9KDR club (sp9kdr.org.pl) after entering callsign of the station that has collected the required number of points. The website to download the certificate will be launched in October 2022 and will be open until June 30, 2023.
- Awards for SWL stations: the certificate will be generated after sending by e-mail to the Organizer’s address (sp9kdr@sp9kdr.org.pl) an excerpt from the SWL log confirming listening to scored QSOs, according to the score requirement given in paragraph 6 of these regulations. The award certificate will be sent back the same way (E-mail).
- Applications for the award will be accepted from October 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023.
- The final interpretation of the regulations belongs to the Organizer. Operators responsible for the provisions of the regulations and settlement of disputes: Tadeusz SP9BSR, Krzysztof SP9NSU, Marcin SQ9OZM.
